Novelists James Joyce and Ernest Hemingway were drinking buddies in Paris- often picking fights on their drunken nights out. Famously, Hemingway took a urinal from his favourite bar in Paris and had it installed into his American abode, arguing that he had "pissed away" so much money into the urinal that he owned it #montmartre #basiliquedusacrecoeur #hemingway #karate #silhouette #instaart #paris #parisjetaime #parisian #topparisphoto #visitparis #parismaville @paris_tourisme #igersparis #loves_paris #igersfrance #instagram #forcedperspective #citytrip #wanderlust #travel #adventure #passionpassport #architecture #travelandlife #intrepidtravel #adventureinstagoodmyphoto #guardiancities #guardiantravelsnaps #bestintravel

Towards the end of WWI, France built a ‘Second Paris’ near the capital city to confuse German pilots. It was located near the town of Maisons-Laffitte, on a stretch of the River Seine. As well as replicas of iconic landmarks, including the Arc de Triomphe, it even had sham streets lined with electric lights so that from the sky it would look like a real city. "Aww, look at that cute cat in the (Azure) window". This is the highlight of Gozo, a natural wonder formed when two limestone sea caves collapsed. If you recognise it, it might be because it was used as the setting of Daenerys Targaryens’ wedding to Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones. If you’re looking for a place to get married, weddings are allowed here (but perhaps hold back on the hundreds of horses, weapons and fighting though) #azurewindow #gozo #malta #gameofthrones #khaldrogo #Daenerystargaryen #GeorgeRRMartin #HBO #Cat #kitten #cats #wedding #naturalwonder #bride #visitgozo #lovemalta #maltaphotography #visitmalta #instamalta #igersmalta #wanderlust #travel #adventure #passionpassport #travelandlife #intrepidtravel #bestintravel #holiday #vacation #sea

They're the first thing you see when you fly into Dublin, but the iconic Poolbeg chimneys might not be around for much longer unless someone can come up with an idea to make money from them. There have been numerous ideas so far, including an idea from designer Michael O'Mara, who suggests that a 'sky-bridge' could be built between the two tips which would offer the potential for bungee jumping. That’s probably better than my idea of turning it into an over-priced washing line #dublin #poolbegtowers #dublincity #igersdublin #lovindublin #lovedublin #discoverdublin #instadublin @dublindiaries @visitdublin @picturethisdublin #loveireland #ireland_gram #paper #clothes #fashion #shirt #silhouette #wanderlust #travel #adventure #passionpassport #architectureporn #architecturelovers #instagram #bungeejump #intepidtravel #architecture #bridge #bbcbritain #bbctravel #design @lovindublin

In 2011 charity worker Lloyd Scott completed the London Marathon dressed as a snail. He spent 26 days on his hands and knees crawling his way towards the finish line, suffering nose bleeds and cramp along the way. Just days later, the charity he completed the marathon for, sacked him due to "losses incurred". It turns out the elaborate snail costume, support costs and publicity cost the charity a lot more than Mr Scott managed to raise #londoncityhall #towerbridge #londonmarathon #marathon #snail #london #london4all #thisislondon #travel #londonlife #cityoflondon #instalondon #londonforyou #igerslondon #animalart #shutup_london #prettycitylondon #instalondon #ilovelondon #visitlondon #instalondon #paperart #architecture #architecturelovers #architectureporn #topphotolondon @london @architecturelondon

My time in Singapore is nearly up unfortunately. I'm spending the last of it here at the world's largest rooftop infinity pool at the top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel. If you ever come to Singapore, this is one of the best places to watch the sunset/people taking selfies and then dropping their phones in the water! (You can find the hotel in @lonelyplanet's new Guides app-see bio link) @visit_singapore #yoursingapore @marinabaysands @marinabaysandshotel #marinabaysands #marinabay #marinabaysandshotel #pool #infinitypool #whale #hotel #singapore #wow_singapore #singaporetoday #exploresingapore #singapore_city #ig_singapore #travel #architecture #architecturelovers @instagram #architectureporn #instagram #passionpassport #instasingapore #adventure #silhouette #paperart #whalewatching #view #lonelyplanet #swim #swimming #runway_vacation
